A. No there was no fault.

Q. When did you mention the fact ?

A. When they took my statement. By Dr. Laing :-

I told them about five days after.

A. The Jemedar after about five days.

Q. Why did you not report it at once ?

A. I did not see any fault.

Who asked you about it then ?

A. Some letter came to the Captain, and the Inspector sent for me.

Q. Do you know from whom the letter came ?

A. No.

Q. He said that the Inspector sent for him; and what did the Inspec-

tor sey ?

A. He asked me if I had heard anything that night, and I replied

"Yes I heard a man calling out Left right, left right."

Q. From which verandah did you hear that noise ?

A. The second.

A. At five past two, end Í said some man is making some noise here.

There was no noise then but I told him to look out for

it

There being no further questions the next witness, Mr. Frank Browne, the Government analyst, was called. He was sworn by His Excellency.

Mr. Brown, Dr. Laing is charged with on the night of the

25th May creating a serious disturbance in his quarters as a result

Of intoxication. Have you any Knowledge of this ?
